Dru's Laboritory

So last Friday I was talking on the phone with Dru's Auntie Nikki and while doing so this kiddo decides he's not going to stay in bed. Why do kids always do things while you are on the phone? I mean, honestly!?! They could not say a word to you all day and then as soon as the phone rings or you make a call they want to chit chat with you. Anyway, I'm on the phone and this little guy decides to do some science.

I told him to go to bed, he tells me no.He's filling up the cup of water and...
Putting them into all three to see how full they get...science right?
And even though I keep telling him to go to bed he continues with what he's doing
He thinks he is so cute!
On another note, Eli is getting better and better! I'm so glad I decided, along with Frank, to call the nurses on Monday and they decided to have us come in again. Eli is acting more like himself and less like a limp noodle. He's not had anymore fevers since Monday, his cough seems like it's suppose to be doing what it's suppose to...being productive. His ears are better (he had another set of ear infections). I on the other hand....my neck is still hurting from the Dentist. So I'm hoping they will tweak the old neck and back and get rid of this aching and headache I've had off and on since last Wed. I am a mess...I think I'm coming down, slowly, with a nice head cold...yeah me!
Take care everyone!

Update on Eli and Easter Sunday

Okay so an update on Sparky. He is doing MUCH better today after his DR appointment (we had one on Friday) and he was diagnosed with pneumonia and he also has some asthma issues due to that. So to jump start Eli getting better he got a shot of antibiotic in the office and a nebulizer ( I have spelled this wrong) treatment in the office and then we had to get him a steroid for his breathing and a different antibiotic. So with ALL that I'm hoping this will knock that icky stuff right out of his lungs. And let me tell you, he is looking and acting the best today than he has since Tuesday...my little fella is slowly coming back...he's acting more like himself.

In this picture is of Sparky taking a nebby treatment...I know he looks little but I'm so thankful he's doing much better, his cough still sounds horrible but he's breathing better. He's still not sure about this but he's a champ!
So this is Sparky Easter morning...his little outfit. As you can tell he didn't feel so good.
But the plug DOES make things a little better.
See the little fluffy tail on the pants?
Frank is helping Dru hunt for eggs cause of course his older brothers found all the 'easy' ones left for Dru...CHEATERS!
Dru was so excited that he found this egg!

The Easter Bunny came!!! The bunny had fun this year...the baskets are different colors and some of the candy and toys that were in there were color coordinated to the baskets.
The Easter Bunny left orange peeps for Dru!
Ian and Lee going through their baskets...the bunny left toys, a movie, some candy...it was a good Easter!
So that has been what has been happening in my life for the last several days. Tomorrow or the next day...okay really the next time I am able to get on, I'll show you what I caught Dru doing while I was on the phone talking to his Aunt Nikki...very funny! Well I laughed AFTER he went to bed, no need encouraging the fella...even if he's too cute to stay mad at for long!

Eli

I don't have much time to post, but Eli went to the Dr on Friday and he was sick. Ear infections and whatever he's got going on in his chest wasn't quite Bronchitis or pneumonia...but was led to believe it could possibly have gone into that if we didn't bring him in. So he's on an antibiotic since Friday but that hasn't been helping in my opinion. He's had a fever since last Tuesday and it's hovered around 100' to 103', so I called the nurses today to see what they might suggest (in hopes they'd say come in.) So they called and we have another appointment today at 10:50am and hopefully we'll get a different antibiotic or something...so here's to a better appointment with different results!

Hope all had a good Easter!

Mononucleosus

Mono is now my new excuse I'm using. I don't understand how I can sleep for like 9 hours and wake up and feel SO tired and need a nap half an hour after I wake up! So I have Mono! So far, no one believes me, which sucks! Acutally, people just laugh at me...see Frank and I AM funny! Just not your kind of funny! And sadly I have been BEGGING Nikki to come and get me but she won't, she just chuckles...I'm pretty cereal man!!! Sleep Deprivation is a crappy side effect from kids...in case you didn't know or have forgotten. ( I don't really have Mono, that I'm aware of).

I just want to know, as a new blogger, just exactly where do the mom's find time to take care of a sick kid AND do their blog! Just wondering! I have 15 minutes to be on the puter right now. Frank has managed to get Eli asleep but he wants to go to his brothers for awhile (which is fine, there is a morning soon in which I will get to sleep in). But I really do want to know where those mothers find time...cause I have to be doing something wrong!

Tangent here: If April Showers bring Mayflower? What do Mayflowers bring?

So Eli's sick, running a temp of 102' and has a horrible cough! He cries after he coughs and he's had Motrin and so I'm curious as to what his temp is w/o the Motrin if it's already at 102' with Motrin. He's been sick before, and things have been bad, but now this is a different bad...and Pneumonia is running rampant here in Enumclaw so I'm of course that is running around in my brain. I tend to go to the worst as opposed to the best...that's just how I roll! So I've done Vicks, Nebulizer w/Albuterol, Motrin, hung him upside down KIDDING!. He desperately needs to nurse, and yes I know that sounds horribly selfish but there it is, so here's to a better night (although I don't see it happening). I must go cause Lee and Dru need to go to bed (Ian was sent to bed early, another fun story there, not really) and Frank is going to put them to bed. So off I go! I hope everyone had a good day!

Just making sure

So today Lee asks me if I've always been a girl...I said yes as far as I know I have been. He says, good just making sure! So here's my question...what would he have said if I said no I started out as, oh I don't know, a bug. He's so funny that one.

We saw many things today while doing more weeding. We saw Sherman the worm...well worms really. Every worm we see is Sherman. We saw a ladybug, I do love those bugs. And we saw some kind of beetle...the boys get so excited about bugs. I never thought in a million years when I thought about having kids that I'd be keeping my eyes out for worms, bugs and spiders (my arch nemesis) to show my kids cause the LOVE those things. The things big and small that you do for your kids.

I'm sad to see our weather go back to rain, but am so thankful for the sun we had! It was a good tantalizing taste of what will come and soon...before we know it. And I can just hear us now, the whispers of the heat...how hot it is...we are a funny people.

I hate to say this but I think Eli is sick...again! Lee was kind enough to pass on whatever cooties he had/has going on. He seems a little warm and he's got a cough...sigh.

So did everyone have a good last few days?

And just so people know, I really, really HATE dying eggs! It's... well let me show you...

Meet Lee. This kid eats anything...this time eat chose to drink the dye (notice the blue lips)...vinegar and all. He's a wonderful child, really! He's been known to eat things most 'normal' children wouldn't. Nikki remember the Evergreen fair? We had all sat down to eat our lunches we'd brought with us and Lee sat down and saw food at the table. Nikki and I hadn't quite gotten the table cleared yet from the other people who'd sat there and Lee picked up the item of food and just about ate it! I think we are pretty lucky Lee didn't make Auntie puke! Been there done that! Another incident that comes to mind is when we were at the gymnastics place. For some unknown reason he was underneath the stands and had found a piece of popcorn...which he quickly ate. GAG! He's so GROSS! Anyway, enough about Lee...the list goes on..trust me.

On top of all that, dyeing eggs is just annoying...the colors never turn out the way they are suppose to, the dye gets everywhere. And although I love hard boiled eggs as much as the next person but the way it makes the whole house smell...yeah not really on the top of my list. So Frank said he would take care of it. So do you think he'll remember to buy the eggs and vinegar or what? How much of THIS does he really have? We'll see!

Okay I need to get out of here and head off to bed! Take care!

Squish the Little Baby Bumblebee...

Do you guys know that song? I squish the little baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me....Frank always sings that with the boys when they are babies. They think it's so funny when he does the little hand motions they always laugh. Today was good. I had MOPS today and I'm glad I went. I really debated about not going...I was feeling a nap attack coming on and it was do or die! So I got my butt moving and went to MOPS. And I'm glad I did cause they taunted me with chocolate truffles dipped in more chocolate and then on top of it all they SAID we should sprinkle them with...well sprinkles. Then on top of it all, a gal at our table just THOUGHT it would be a good idea to bring carmel's to our meeting...so I dipped that in chocolate too. Just thought it would be fun to torture myself. SIGH! So now they are all in the freezer CALLING my name...in case you aren't aware there are 6 more days until Easter. And it can't come a day too soon! And on top of it all I have figured out what I'm bringing to Easter to my in-laws, a peach cobbler...from scratch and I have to quit thinking about it cause it's making me drool. Doesn't that just sound YUMMY!?!

My boys are so creative, today they made Sand Angels...and look how laid back Dru is. He's all about comfort that kid. And by the way the Mariners had their opening day today...and they won their game. GO MARINERS!!! I had more helpers today doing my wedging and weeding. It felt so good I'll be doing more tomorrow...I'm pretty sure my parents are laughing at how much I'm enjoying weeding. Especially when they think back on how much it took to get my brother and I outside to do yard work. Guess my turn will come around.

Lee was so funny...he was all about making sand angels. He also had a profound moment today...not really but he did say something funny and it cracked me up. He and Dru were sitting at their picnic table drinking their Gatorade and eating their pretzels. When all the sudden a hornet comes out of nowhere and Lee kinda freaks out (with good reason, he got stung by one on his eyelid). This photo explains it all on why he's a little funny about hornets being by him, can't say I blame the kid.
Anyway onto the rest of my story. So the hornet kinda follows Lee around and he freaks out a bit and then he tells me after the bee leaves that he'll yell for me when the bee comes back. Thanks Lee. So the bee is gone and he tells me...Mom do you know how to get rid of bees? I said no...how do you get rid of bees? Well next time one comes around I'm going to be real still like an old man...HA! HA! HA! So Lee that's the trick, be really still like an old man and the bee will leave you alone? YUP! That's what you do mom! Okay Lee if you say so. So I want to know how many old men out there get stung and if there's something to that thought.
Well Frank put together our (okay his) lawnmower. We can only hope this one will last longer than our last one, which made it a year. Frank mowed over a rock and it was history from there. He didn't get to try it out today cause there was many things going on today, so he'll get to try it out tomorrow. Secretly I think he's a little excited, it's been so long since he's had his own mower (last year he borrowed one of his brothers) and this mower is what he wanted.
I think this could be the 'other' woman.

Ian is doing well at Tae Kwon Do, although today we (and by we I mean the royal 'we') discovered that Ian is PAINFULLY awkward in this class. He doesn't know is right from his left, he can't balance well if at all, and he just looks goofy! If we weren't sure before we are now, he's related to me! I think we might be on the right track though for helping him with some self control issues and his listening skills.

Okay folks I'm outta here, I need to go to bed so I can look like I'm functioning tomorrow. Cause Lord knows that I don't feel like I am. Have a WONDERFUL day in the sun tomorrow! I know I will!

A Little Vitamin D

This post is brought to you by your local wall crawler!

Man was today wonderful or what!?! It hit 70' here and we were living it up! We went to church this morning, well actually Ian and Eli and I did. The other two stayed home with their dad. Lee is sick and it's silly to take Dru so he can just stay in the nursery. Ian did say something funny today on our way home though. I was driving home and as we were taking our turn Ian goes 'Hold on to your biscuits!' Like I'm driving around like a maniac or something. Funny Kid!

Ian and Dru helped me do some yard work...I think someone has taken my kids and replaced them with other children. Normally I have to beat Ian outside and today he willingly helped me weed! What is going on with this kid? So we were out there for an hour or more and then they went inside to play video games with their dad. I went out later after I put Eli down for his afternoon nap. He did much better outside today than yesterday. I think it was cause it was warmer...MUCH warmer! He didn't panic as much. So I went back out and pulled some shrubs out, it looks much better. Although Frank and I are now in a quandary as to what we put there now. We are so out of our realm in the gardening area. All I know is that it needs to be kid proof so to speak. They are the reason the other bushes got taken out...they destroyed them. I just can't get over how nice of a day it was! I'm pretty sure we didn't know how much we all needed this until it came! Just one of those things. What I'm hoping to do is to slowly get things ready for my garden (I sound like a broken record). But I really am looking forward to it.

So I finished up outside and then came inside and cooked dinner, we had tacos...this is one of Frank's all time favorite meals and we eat it a lot, especially when the Seahawks play...Long story! So we got dinner done and kids showered and then we watched movies...well Frank and I watched ours and the boys watched theirs. They watched Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler...I hear it's good I haven't watched it yet. And Frank and I watched Zach and Miri make a Porno...and just so you know..again Frank picked a very stupid movie and I would like those 2 hours of my life back please! Please I BEG you!! It was retarded! We did rent another one that was decent...it was called Role Model. It was MUCH better than the Zach and Miri movie. I think I need to quit letting Frank pick out some movies...cause he likes stupid movies. But that's a side note there.

My plans for tomorrow is to go to MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers') if Lee is better and then to come home and do some more yard work! I'm loving this...and I tell you what. NEVER as a kid did I EVER think I'd like doing yard work! But as it turns out, I do and I do cause it's my yard and my house. Makes a difference when it's yours and not someone else's like your parents. WEIRD! Kinda like as a kid you hate eating certain foods and then as you get older you end up liking those things. What's that all about you know? The best part of the week starting is that Ian goes back to school! WOOHOO!! Don't get me wrong we had a great Spring Break but I'm done. It dawned on me that the school system has these breaks like Mid-Winter Break and Spring Break so that the parents can slowly ease back into having their kids back at home during the summer. Just a thought.

Tonight we had some deep dinner conversation about Lent again and what it means and then we also talked about what Easter is and what we do. I discovered that it's difficult at times to explain those things to kids in terms and ways they understand. You know like using big words and how you understand the situation. I think they got the point though, we also do this for Christmas cause I don't want my kids to grow up thinking these holidays are about gifts and candy. Although those things are nice and they are fun...(honestly who doesn't like those things?) but we do have a reason why we do the things we do on these holidays and lets really remember the point of the holiday and the point of Lent. It's been interesting and what I really love is how much the boys have taken off with this. They have been really good about it. If they ask for candy I say no, remember Lent. And they go 'Oh yeah' and DROP it. No fighting, nothing. I've really been shocked. (I have the TV on for background and the CMA's are on and I want to know why people think Jamie Fox is 'country'? , tangent there sorry) I've been proud of my boys, they have done good. What I'm hoping is next year we will all come up with something to give up for Lent together. Something we all agree on.

Anyway, that's some rambling there and I should go but MAN! Get a load of the nice weather we have got going until Wednesday! GO VITAMIN D!!!

Music That Moves You

I don't know about you guys, but there are times in my life that are defined by music. The summer after I graduated High school was Tom...
