Run Down

I took this picture at the Clevland Metro Zoo, I have no idea what kind of plant it is. I almost think it's a pepper plant of some sorts, but that's just a guess. I just think it looks really cool, they had them all over the place. So there's the pic of the day, since I don't have much to write about.

I am run down I believe and my body has said enough! So I think I've snatched a cold or something. I don't really know it could be allergies for all I know. All I know is yesterday, late in the day I started really not feeling well. Then I woke up today just feeling like I had a ton of bricks sitting on my shoulders. Uggghh what a feeling. And all I wanted to do was sleep it off! Which I almost had until 3 little boys felt the need to act up and wake not only myself but also Sparky. Which I have a sneaking suspicion isn't feeling all that hot either. So, I went nuts and told them all to get outside. And that's pretty much where they stayed until I finally woke up around 5pm. Thankfully in between all that my wonderful husband came home and kept the boys outside and the house quiet so Sparky and I could catch another nap. And boy I felt much better after that. It really is amazing what sleep can do for you...but you guys know that.

So on that note, I'm headed off to bed to sleep off whatever thing I have...hope all are having a good weekend so far!

Quirky

I love the word quirky...kinda just fun to say. This week has been so much fun and selfishly so nice cause my boys have had a friend stay for the week. They have all played outside all day and played nicely for the most part. It's been nice to have that. I didn't have to listen to I'm bored or there's nothing to do outside all this week. So not only have we had a friend stay the week for Vacation Bible School, but the last two days I've also had my two nephews come play. They all play really well with each other and they are all the same age. One 7 yr. old, three 5 yr. old's, and two almost 3 yr. old's. It wasn't with out it's hiccups, but they worked it out.

So I always giggle when I have my nephews come to my house. I ALWAYS know when they have been in my house and in the boys room. Can you tell how I know? My nephews, with out fail, always line the cars up like this somewhere. They crack me up, they are just quirky like that. We all have our quirks...I don't buy a bunch of banana's if it's an odd number...QUIRKY!

And if you notice they are all lined up big to small in the back row...or small to big however you look at it. I LOVE my nephews!!!

Neverland

Today I watched the Memorial Service for Micheal Jackson. I have to say it was better than I expected. It wasn't a circus, it wasn't a concert, it wasn't weird...it was a memorial service. It was balanced just right. And I did fine up until Brooke Shields got up to speak about her relationship with Micheal and then I shed a few tears when Micheal's daughter got up to speak. Such raw and vulnerable emotion for all to see. I just wish she'd have 'come' out so to speak a different way, not such a raw way. I just hope it doesn't backfire for the kids. I know we all have an opinion about him, but this is my blog so it gets to be mine.

When I heard he'd passed I knew this was going to be big, if not as big as when the Pope died. That kind of big. And it was big. He was a great performer and his music will be missed. I remember when some of his music came out like 'Remember the Time' and 'Black and White'. I remember listening to those all the time. I'm pretty sure I didn't hear the whole cassette, but kept listening to those two songs. (did you notice I said cassette?). I remember watching his videos on MTV and VH1, and those are good memories for me in the midst of a bad childhood for me. I don't really know what my opinion of him is cause I don't know him...I don't know enough about him to really say much, other than he was a good musician and performer. And I'm pretty sure I've missed out on a good time and show by not being able to make it to one of his concerts.

I think now it's time to stop having so much stuff on the TV about him and let the family grieve and move on. They are going to all have a fight ahead of them for many things for many years. This isn't even the beginning and that is sad. Especially for those kids, how is something like this not going to mess them up? I just don't see them walking away unscathed. I hope I'm wrong!

Milestones

So Frank decided it was time for Ian to move on to bigger and better things. Drum roll please....the training wheels have come off!!!! Ian and Frank took them off together and they even got to use daddy's tools! Guess you know what the high light of that day was... So not only did Ian take his training wheels off, but so did Lee. It is time for them to go.

So here is Lee and Frank working on his bike and using daddy's coveted tools.

Now off to do the possible. Ride our bikes with ONLY two wheels! Just a little push daddy!

Lee's turn. I was surprised, Frank was not, at how quickly Lee caught on and Ian didn't. But you know before too long Ian really took off with it and can for all intents and purposes can ride his bike. Ian can start and stop his bike, needs a little more practice on the brake part, but he'll get it. Lee can ride his bike but still can't start and stop...but before the end of the week I'm betting the two of them will have it down to an art form.

After doing some trial runs in the back yard we went off to the parking lot next door and practiced there. According to Ian and Lee it's much easier there than on the grass. I guess I just had an over protective mother moment...all I could imagine was the horribly scraped knees and elbow owies! I know they are bound to happen...but could we delay it a bit? PLEASE!?!

The Parade...

So in our parade, and perhaps maybe in all parades, the fire engines always start the parade. So here is the beginning of the parade. So Ian has spotted daddy in the crowd. We saw so many people there in the crowd it was so much fun seeing all of them.

Now Lee has spotted daddy, Ian of course has spotted some one else he knows. He is so the social butterfly.

Dru has finally spotted everyone we were waving at...notice his trike is IN the wagon with him. this kid didn't make it more than a few pedals into the walk and he was D-O-N-E! I couldn't believe it! That bugger! Well Ian and Lee were kind enough to walk and Ian pulled Dru. Those are some great big brothers.

And there we go...We came, we saw, and there you go! We did have fun though, I'd do it again

It was SO hot that day! Man oh Man! But everyone else felt the heat too. I hope everyone had a good 4Th of July!

So busy! Where did this come from? I'll be lucky if I make it on the computer again today. And then Eli...Sparky...he's a spitfire I tell you! He's off his rocker of sorts lately...

I hope to be on tomorrow...maybe. We are in the town parade tomorrow and that should be fun, then off to a friends house for a bbq and just some good old visiting with people.

Ok Eli is being a major pain...he might be duct tape to the wall here in a bit. KIDDING!
