Game Ball
On Monday Ian had a make up game and he hit a couple good pitches. The whole team did really well, some even had a few double plays. It was exciting! At the end of every game the coaches gather the kids around and he says a few things. For Ian he said this guy kept us in the game and had some really good hits. Today's game ball is for Ian. My baby was over the moon! His eyes danced with joy! He was so proud of himself! Way to go Ian...you worked hard for that!

Paulson Games
I would be remiss if I didn't tell you all about the games that were played while camping. And I'm just putting this out there now, so everyone is aware and knows. You will not see me in any of these pictures. I have learned after several unfortunate events that I am not meant to play sports. I mean we've all heard my work out stories right...sports are as bad if not worse. I have tried to play sports with Frank and his family, but I get hurt, so I opt out. Much to the frustration of his family...but hey I got a game of Yahtzee in...that counts right?
And let me tell you, for the record...the baseball that hit my head (thrown by my beloved) and left the mark of the stitches (from the baseball) on my forehead HURT! And that was just the first camping trip I ever did with his family before we were married. It hurt so bad I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...especially in front of people I didn't know well! After that...many things thrown by Frank have hit my head...football, soccer ball, baseball...I have just quit after that. It's just not safe!
Many played the game of Volleyball and as you can see many would have rather watched the game...UP CLOSE! I stayed back...didn't need to add to my list of things that have hit me. Can't you see me twisting my ankle playing this?
Colton is going for Bat Mitten...I love seeing his determination to play this by himself.
Many brought their bikes and went on bike rides. My kids lived for bike and scooter rides! They lived for anyone that suggested a bike ride/walk!
We are in baseball season...so of course we have to play catch a time or two, this is Lee and Frank tossing the ball around.
What's camping with out golf? I don't know...never seen golf played on the camp grounds...it's a first for me too. But Ian really enjoyed himself , actually told me that he'd like to play golf (he thinks they have things set up like in baseball for golf). I think he's gonna have to wait awhile. He also thought that taking a cooking class would be fun...he's all over the place! Pick something you like kiddo! Love him though!
Swinging the bat around...Dru had such a blast! He's not half bad and he's a South Paw...makes things interesting.
I'm not sure who Grandma was throwing to because neither one of them look ready...
Finally I bring you to Boccie Ball. Yep that's my family standing around a bunch of balls...I think they are figuring out who got closest to the white ball. This game doesn't look fun at all.
Even Great Grandpa got a game of Boccie ball in...I believe they even had a tournament going and Great Grandma played a game. They all had fun but I never did hear who won the tourney...
My activity was walking...I took Charlie for a walk a few times and then at least one time all the women and a few children took a walk. In which I got lost...well not lost but I lost my group I was with. Now after you've stopped laughing, I'll tell you I lost them due to that I had to take someone to the bathroom. I thought they would wait for me or at the least walk really really slowly. They didn't do either...and I promise we were not in there more than 5 minutes...and they were gone! I walked around looking for them and couldn't find them. So Dru and I went back and looked for them back at camp and after like 15 minutes I went back and looked...they had walked more than half the trail and were at the park by the water. Sigh...so much for my walk! I did toy for awhile yelling Marco...but seeing as I was in a campsite...I'm betting someone would have answered and it wouldn't be who I was looking for.

Little Boy Blue
Please keep my friend and her family in your prayers tomorrow...tomorrow they lay to rest a much beloved little baby boy who wasn't here for long but blessed us all with his presence and smiles. Monday, I can only imagine, will be one of the hardest days in the life of his momma....say a special prayer for her...please...
Water Fight
At Grandma and Grandpa's house, way back around Easter...the Easter Bunny brought the grandkids squirt guns. There were approximately 9 over the top excited grandkids bouncing around the house over these things. The only rule I guess was they couldn't squirt Grandma...I was shocked that it was actually followed. My boys have been waiting for this day since April...constantly bugging me about these silly little things. Finally they could use them over Memorial Weekend...what joy!
The thing is, it starts out innocently enough like this
and then it turns into a Paulson summit meeting, including even the littlest squirt (like my play on words? I'm that good folks!)...really that just looks like a bunch of trouble for us. Of 9 grandkids...7 of them are boys. It's my belief that we are outnumbered and we can not under any circumstance allow them to know that!!!!
After the summit meeting the plan is tried to put into action...some may fail others may succeed, but in the end one wonders who really won? The plan was to get Grandpa Lee...that plan has been put into action...they had him on the run!
Even the girls have been called into duty...such determination! It won't be said they didn't give their all.
But in the end...I think Grandpa Lee walked away the winner. The kids were pretty drenched from failed attempted bombing of water balloons...due to failure to detonate and bins that have holes in them. The battle was fought but the war was won...by Grandpa Lee. Only to be fought again sometime this summer or next. They have their eye on him and a plot formulating already I'm sure.

Sandy Beach
Part of our exploring while camping was we went to this beach that Frank and his brothers had been going to since they started camping here...AGES ago. Now I have to tell you, in all the years I have camped here with Frank (and we've been married almost 10 years and together 12) I've never been to this little Sandy Beach Island. I will say though that for a few years we camped at a different park in Wenatchee and we've only been back at Lincoln Rock the last 2 years.
With that being said, we parked the boat on the 'beach'...I want you to look at the 'beach'...there is NO 'BEACH'! Apparently there was a lot more sand last year than this year...that's what they are saying anyway.
Dru in the water with Uncle Cheeson, who by the way jumped into the water. Bunch of crazy people if you ask me.
The kids building a moat...kids and sand...like peanut butter and jelly.
Eli having fun in the sand with his daddy! Eli really had a good time in the sand.
I am absolutely in love with this picture...and of course this baby of mine!
Grandpa Lee and Audrey in the jet ski... not sure who is driving though...makes you wonder.
Frank took Lee out on the Jet Ski...Lee is still undecided about if he liked the ride or not. He did keep trying it so good for him.
These two...I tell you what. About the goofiest sister in laws I've got. So digging her Rambo look...she didn't out that way and for some reason came back this way. Later on she, Kylie, and Jason went out on the Jet Ski and Rambo managed to tip the whole thing over and dunk them all into the Columbia River. The three of them couldn't get warm that whole night...guess they won't let Rambo drive anymore...lol
Another good day, we had to leave early because it was mine and Frank's night to do dinner with his parents. It was kind of fun just doing something with the brothers and wives and the kids...I can't think of a time when we've all just been somewhere just us and enjoyed ourselves.

Charlie's First Camping Trip
So we went camping last weekend and we had a good time. Charlie went with us and we all mashed into Frank's truck. Let's just say we were sardines in there, including Charlie! He did well though, and he didn't even puke! That's a big deal!
Here is Charlie the next day, all perky and checking things out. He really is a handsome dog. He did great camping...long walks, didn't bark much and was as behaved as I could ask for.

Eli is all wrapped up in Charlie...it really looks like he's trying to get Charlie off his leash. I really think these two have a symbiotic relationship.
Charlie hears something. There were Marmots everywhere and of course the occasional Rattle Snake or Bull Snake (neither of which I saw). What he heard I don't know, I didn't find out.
Well all I have to say is even in the pet world/family there's one in every crowd(take a close look at that picture, you'll see what I mean). This dog Lola, is my brother and sister in law's dog...she's a little left of center. OK, really she's a whole lot but she's well loved by her family and that's what counts. But man is she goofy!!
And here is Chopper. She belongs to my other brother and sister in law. This dog cracks me up with her looks. I mean look at that face! She likes to come down the road and visit Charlie from time to time, until she sees Frank and then she takes off.
More camping pictures to come. I'm hoping there is good weather tomorrow...I need some rays! Have a good Saturday all!

Meet Bruiser
See his nice black eye he gave himself while camping? First day and not more than an hour we were there and he tripped over his own feet and it all happened in slow motion. He did a header right into the metal picnic table. I think these kids are related to me...constantly hurting themselves. On top of that black eye, he's now got road rash on his forehead and nose and busted top lip. He's quite the looker ladies I tell you! He's also a dirt eater if you didn't notice that from the picture, he really likes his own mud pies. Hope all enjoyed the wonderful weather we had today. I know we did. Have a good Friday everyone.
